The path to an American university doesn’t start where you think. For most Spanish players, it starts at a Junior College.
Junior College is not the backup plan. It is the real path. The vast majority of Spanish players have more options, more scholarships, and better chances of success entering through a Junior College than trying to reach an NCAA Division I program directly.
Ángel Jareño personally supervises every camp. Over the course of several days, we assess technical level, physical condition, and competitive mentality. The goal is not to find the best players — it’s to identify which players are ready for the American system and through which path. Most will go to Junior College. A few will go directly to NCAA. That determination happens here.
Who can apply? Spanish players with a federated competition background, aged 16 to 22, willing to study and compete in English.
Selected players from the camp move on to the Showcase. Scouts and recruiting staff from Junior Colleges and NCAA universities watch the players compete live, in a real game environment. We have contacted more than 250 Junior Colleges. That is our core market. A polished highlight reel is no substitute for watching a player perform under pressure.

When a program is interested, Sport Change Project connects the institution directly with the player’s parents or representatives. The negotiation happens between them. We are the sports bridge. We do not handle visas, contracts, or personal accompaniment. Those details are handled by the family and the American institution directly.
